Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer same-day or next-day appointments?
Yes—call early, and we’ll prioritize same-day or next-day availability so you’re not waiting weeks. Fast evaluation lets us set guardrails, start targeted relief, and prevent frozen-shoulder patterns. See visit flow in What to Expect, and review common drivers in Shoulder Impingement and Rotator Cuff Tear to align symptoms with an effective, right-sized plan.
Will I have a copay or upfront costs?
For eligible injury cases, many patients have no upfront cost; standard insurance plans may include copays or coinsurance per policy. We’re direct about costs before treatment and outline options that fit goals and budget. See what care may include inside Shoulder Rehab and, when indicated, Glenohumeral Injection.
Do all rotator cuff tears need surgery?
Not always. Many partial tears respond to scapular and rotator-cuff strengthening, mobility work, and activity modifications. If pain blocks progress, a Subacromial Injection may unlock rehab. Surgery is reserved for full-thickness tears with weakness, traumatic tears in active patients, or failure of comprehensive care. Explore patterns in Rotator Cuff Tear and our Shoulder Rehab.
How do injections help shoulder pain?
They can reduce inflammation in targeted spaces—glenohumeral, subacromial, or AC—so you can move and strengthen without constant flare-ups. We use image guidance only when appropriate and pair procedures with Shoulder Rehab so results last. Learn where each option fits: Glenohumeral Injection and AC Joint Injection.
When is an MRI actually useful?
When findings will change care—suspected full-thickness rotator cuff tear with weakness, recurrent instability, or stalled progress despite correct rehab. Otherwise, a skilled exam plus Shoulder Rehab often accelerates recovery. See decision points in Labral Tear.
How do you clear me to lift or throw?
Criteria: pain control, symmetric range, strength ratios, scapular mechanics, and tolerance of graded volume without spikes. We raise load only when form holds under intensity. Review benchmarks in What to Expect and the programming that gets you there in Shoulder Rehab.
