We Evaluate and Treat All Types of Injuries

Automobile Accident Injuries

Automobile accidents of all types have the power to significantly harm passengers and bystanders as well. Injuries stemming from automobile accidents can range from bruised body parts to serious personal damages. Fortunately, our car accident injury doctors have the expertise to treat a wide variety of common auto accident injuries, including:

  • Whiplash: Whiplash is a neck injury that's extremely common among those who have experienced a car wreck. Whiplash results from the sudden jerking of the head forward and backward--which often occurs during rear-end collisions, causing neck pain and stiffness.
  • Fractures: Broken bones, often in the arms, legs, or ribs, can occur in automobile accidents, sometimes leading to multiple fractures or more severe injuries.
  • Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI): Even without visible head trauma, accidents can cause concussions or more serious brain injuries, manifesting as symptoms from confusion to long-term cognitive issues.
  • Back Injuries: Severe accidents may damage the spinal cord, leading to partial or complete paralysis, dependent on the injury's location and extent.
  • Soft Tissue Injuries: Muscle, tendon, and ligament injuries, such as strains, sprains, and tears, can result in pain and reduced mobility.

Workplace Injuries

Injuries in the workplace are especially common, and while they can vary in severity and can affect employees differently, there are many treatments available to treat them. At the Comprehensive Spine Center of Dallas, we offer a wide range of treatments for common workplace and personal injuries, such as:

  • Sprains and Strains: These injuries often occur due to overexertion, lifting heavy objects, or sudden movements, resulting in pain and limited mobility.
  • Lacerations and Punctures: Cuts and puncture wounds can happen in industrial or construction settings, potentially requiring sutures or more extensive medical attention.
  • Fractures: Broken bones can occur in workplaces, particularly in industries involving heavy machinery or high-risk activities.
  • Repetitive Stress Injuries: Office workers and those in repetitive jobs can develop conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, leading to arm pain and numbness in the hands and wrists.
  • Back and Spinal Injuries: Improper lifting, falls, or accidents in the workplace can lead to back injuries, including herniated discs and spinal cord injuries.

Sports Injuries

Keeping an active lifestyle with sports and exercise is an important aspect of long-term mental and physical health, however, sports can also result in many common injuries. Fortunately, many of them can be treated with appropriate medical and chiropractic care. At The Comprehensive Spine Center of Dallas, our sports injury doctors in Dallas can provide custom treatments for all of the following sports injuries and more:

  • Sprains and Muscle Strains: Overexertion or sudden movements can lead to sprained ligaments or strained muscles, causing pain and reduced performance.
  • Contusions and Bruises: Contact sports often result in bruises or contusions due to impacts with other players or equipment.
  • Fractures and Dislocations: More serious injuries may include bone fractures or joint dislocations, requiring immediate medical attention.
  • Tendon and Ligament Injuries: Athletes are susceptible to injuries like torn ligaments (e.g., torn rotator cuffs) or tendonitis, which may need surgery and rehabilitation.
  • Concussions: Head injuries can occur in sports like football or soccer, potentially leading to concussions and requiring a structured recovery plan.
  • Overuse Injuries: Repetitive motions and training can lead to overuse injuries such as stress fractures or tennis elbow.
  • Joint Injuries: Sprained ankles, dislocated shoulders, and other joint injuries are common in sports and may require rehabilitation.

Brain Injuries

Accidents to the head that result in a change in the brain’s neuronal activity are classified as mild or severe brain injuries, which may or may not be caused by a loss of consciousness. Suffice to say that brain injuries are serious, and should be treated as soon as possible. Fortunately, our team is well-equipped to help with traumatic brain injuries and offers a range of treatments to address both the physical and psychological effects of these injuries.

A Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI) is a brain injury caused by external forces. Common examples that cause an mTBI are car accidents (with or without a direct blow to the head), sports-related injuries, falls, or explosive blasts.

mTBI are commonly misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all, and many times patients do not even know they have one. If you've recently experienced an extreme auto accident or suffered a blow to the head that required medical care, it's possible that you may have an mTBI. If you feel "off," anxious, agitated, or confused--or if you're having trouble sleeping, eating, or remembering things, it may be because you're experiencing some of the lingering effects of an mTBI.

The good news is that most mTBIs are fairly mild and can be treated. At the Comprehensive Spine Center of Dallas, our accident doctors are experts in the treatment of mTBI and can utilize virtual technology such as IPAS to quickly diagnose and treat any underlying soft tissue or neurologic injury.

If you suspect that you have a mTBI, do not hesitate to contact us today to have it assessed.

About Our Treatment Plans

At The Comprehensive Spine Center of Dallas, each and every one of our treatment plans is individualized for each patient. Conservative treatment is commonly initiated first to include: physical therapy, heat/ICE therapy, tissue manipulation, massage, and oral medications as warranted.

For patients that do not respond to initial treatments, other treatments such as injections, X-ray guided spinal procedures, steroid injections, anesthetic agents, and viscosupplementation agents, may be used, depending on your individual needs.

Finally, for those patients who do not respond to these treatment options, or who suffer long-term pain, surgery may be recommended.

Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI)

An mTBI is an injury to the brain caused by external forces. Common examples that cause an mTBI are motor vehicle accidents (with or without a direct blow to the head), sports-related injuries, falls, or explosive blasts.

We are experts in the treatment of MTBI. We utilize virtual technology to diagnose MTBI called IPAS.

mTBI are commonly misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all. People many times do not even know they have an MTBI. The patient feels off, confused, anxious, agitated, sleep poorly, memory is poor, appetite is decreased but does not know why.
Our team can help.

In conjunction with other imaging and physical exams, we utilize IPAS virtual technology. IPAS studies the brain’s responses to stimuli. We are better able to objectively diagnose mTBI injuries and the extent of brain injury that has occurred. IPAS also help create a more detailed and individual treatment plan for patients

Learn More About Preparing For Your Visit.

Should I go to an emergency room first?

It depends on the severity of your injury. If your injury is minor and you do not have any symptoms such as dizziness, numbness, or loss of balance, you may be able to visit our injury clinics directly. If your injury is more severe we would recommend going directly to the nearest emergency room for medical evaluation and emergency treatment.

How soon should I see an accident doctor after a car accident?

It's crucial to seek treatment for auto accident injuries as soon as possible. Delaying treatment may worsen pain levels and hinder the recovery process.

Do you handle personal injury cases, and can you work with insurance companies?

While we do not handle personal injury cases, we can work with your insurance company to ensure a smooth process. Patients seeking treatment are encouraged to check out our insurance page for more information.

Should I see your personal injury doctors before I see my personal injury lawyer?

If you are feeling pain or other symptoms after an accident or injury, it's always best to get prompt medical attention, either at a hospital or at a medical clinic, as soon as possible.

Contrary to what many people believe, waiting to see a doctor or trying to “tough it out” isn't in your best interest. In fact, if you wait several days after an accident to seek medical treatment, an insurance company or a lawyer may argue that there was some other “event” that occurred before or after the incident that is causing your pain.

If you need to make a legal claim, our personal injury doctors in Dallas can help you document your injuries with sufficient medical evidence, so that you can prove the injuries were caused by the incident in question. However, it's important that you get your pain treated first, and soon after an accident.

Do you provide care for slips and falls?

Yes, we can provide care for slips and falls, as well as other "everyday injuries," such as back and neck pain, muscle strains, and joint sprains. Give us a call today to find out how we can help.

How can I make an appointment?

Scheduling an appointment is easy. Simply contact us as soon as possible, and our team will guide you through the process, ensuring you receive timely and effective care.
