Orthopedic Pathways We Treat

Spine Orthopedics

Typical issues: neck/lower-back pain, disc herniation, radiculopathy, stenosis, spondylolisthesis, facet/SI pain, compression fracture.

Our approach: targeted exam; fluoro-guided epidural, facet MBB/RFA, SI injections when indicated; bracing; progressive rehab; surgical coordination when criteria are met.

Shoulder & Arm

Typical issues: rotator cuff tendinopathy/tear, impingement, labral tear, instability/dislocation, biceps tendinopathy, adhesive capsulitis, fractures.

Our approach: mechanism-based exam; load management; guided injections when appropriate; scapular/rotator-cuff reconditioning; surgical consult if instability or full-thickness pathology.

Hip & Pelvis

Typical issues: labral tear/FAI, gluteal tendinopathy, greater trochanteric pain, intra-articular OA, SI dysfunction, pelvic stress injuries.

Our approach: exam aligned to gait and sport; fluoro-guided hip or SI injections when indicated; strengthening/mobility plan; surgical coordination for structural disease.

Knee

Typical issues: ACL/PCL/MCL/LCL sprain/tear, meniscus tear, patellofemoral pain, tendinopathy, bursitis, osteoarthritis.

Our approach: bracing/taping; graded loading; fluoro-guided intra-articular or genicular procedures when appropriate; imaging only if it guides decisions; return-to-work/play milestones.

Foot & Ankle

Typical issues: ankle sprain/instability, Achilles tendinopathy, plantar heel pain, mid/hindfoot arthritis, stress reactions/fractures.

Our approach: stabilization/booting when needed; progressive loading and balance work; fluoro-guided ankle/subtalar injections when indicated; footwear/orthoses strategy.

Hand & Wrist

Typical issues: carpal tunnel syndrome, De Quervain’s, trigger finger, CMC (thumb) arthritis, TFCC injury, wrist sprain/fracture.

Our approach: splinting/ergonomics; activity pacing; targeted injections when appropriate; tendon/nerve gliding; surgical referral when indicated (instability, refractory compression, displaced fractures).

Frequently asked questions

Do I need imaging before I’m seen?

Not usually. We begin with a targeted history and exam to decide whether imaging would change care. When indicated, we coordinate MRI, CT, or X-ray through trusted independent centers. Many conditions improve with structured rehabilitation and activity adjustments alone. If red-flag symptoms appear, we expedite imaging and referrals. The goal is timely answers without unnecessary delays or tests.

Will I need injections or surgery?

Most patients improve with conservative care: activity modification, bracing, medications when appropriate, and rehabilitation. Fluoroscopy-guided injections are considered for targeted pain generators if progress stalls. Surgery is reserved for specific indications—instability, neurologic deficit, displaced fractures, or structural disease unlikely to improve conservatively. Decisions are individualized, evidence-informed, and centered on restoring function and reaching your real-world goals.

What does “right-sized” care mean?

Right-sized care matches the least intensive intervention to the biggest functional gain. We avoid reflexively ordering imaging or procedures that won’t change your plan. Instead, we stage care: graded loading, skillful rehab, and only then—if needed—fluoro-guided procedures or surgical referral. This approach reduces downtime, cost, and risk while keeping momentum toward work, sport, and daily life.

How long until I can return to work or sport?

Timelines vary by diagnosis, baseline fitness, and job/sport demands. We set clear milestones—pain control, range, strength ratios, movement quality, and task or sport-specific skills. As you meet milestones without symptom spikes, we progress activities. For heavy labor or cutting/pivoting sports, we’re meticulous about criteria so the return is durable, not rushed.

Do you coordinate with therapists or surgeons?

Yes. With your permission, we coordinate with physical and occupational therapists and, when indicated, surgical teams. Shared goals, restrictions, and milestones cut confusion and speed progress. If surgery becomes appropriate, our documentation and exam findings streamline decision-making and postoperative planning so you don’t lose momentum in recovery.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Bring any prior imaging and reports if available, a medication list, allergies, and a brief timeline of your symptoms. Include details about work tasks or athletic demands, braces/orthotics you use, and goals that matter most. Wear comfortable clothing for movement testing. The clearer the picture we have, the more precisely we can tailor your plan.
